Innovation Policy Impact Assessment at Regional Level
Benchmarking for Dissemination of Differing Performances to Raise Awareness of Policy Makers to Stimulate Successful Measures and Good Practise
The IMPACTSCAN4INNOPOL project aims to encourage the exchange of experience in assessing and benchmarking regional innovation policies among the participating regions, to transfer an inter-regional benchmarking tool, and to give access to good practise in these fields. Long-term effects of the RIS/RITTS processes on the regional performance are to be identified and documented, and the influence of the type of regional innovation support infrastructure will be verified.
The data collection will start with a contextual analysis to clarify the particularities of the drivers (firms) and providers (innovation actors). Comparing historic and current data will give an insight in the appropriateness of the RIS/RITTS process. Data processing will result in a graphical view on the regional performance. Comparison will then allow inter-regional benchmarking.
Some of the major outcomes expected from IMPACTSCAN4INNOPOL are:
achievements of RIS/RITTS programme are verified;
deployment of the conclusions is realized through policy recommendations and continuous dissemination;
regional innovation support infrastructure and innovation policies are improved;
positive impact on the economic, social and environmental situation of the regions is highly expected.
